The Mira Costa Boys Beach Volleyball program is top in the region, having won 6 consecutive IBVL Regional Championships. Head Coach Seain Cook and his coaching staff look forward to a competitive and successful 2024 season.
IBVL BEACH VOLLEYBALL SEASON – 2024
The 2024 IBVL Beach Season kicks off on Saturday, August 31st and concludes at the Southern Pacific IBVL Championships in Hermosa Beach on Friday, October 4th . For more specific tournament dates and locations, please visit https://www.ibvl.org
Each weekend during the season, three player pairs are chosen to represent the Varsity, JV and Frosh/Soph squads. Each week, coaches will determine player pairs for that weekend’s tournament. This creates a focused, competitive environment that gives every athlete an opportunity to earn playing time.

POST IBVL/BEACH POST SEASON TRAINING PROGRAM
After the beach volleyball season ends, players can continue in the Beach Volleyball Post Season Training program, which will award PE credit to participants. Without the Beach Post Season Training Program, students who need PE credit would then transition to Mira Costa High School’s PE program. Students will need to speak with their counselors to make the change in Aeries. As a reminder, all 9th and 10th graders must enroll in PE or play a sport each semester (4 semesters total), so the Beach Volleyball Post Season Training Program would cover one semester of that requirement.

All athletes must complete the Athletic Packet outlined in detail on the MCHS ATHLETIC PACKET. The Athletic Packet must be completed one month prior to tryouts. Do not wait until the last minute, as this is a Mira Costa High School requirement. There are no exceptions! In short, you must complete the Snap Registration online registration and submit a Pre-participation Sports Physical Evaluation. Please direct any questions regarding this process to the Mira Costa High School administration listed on the website. The Booster President does not collect or process any of these forms.

Team practices are scheduled on Tuesdays and Thursdays each week during the season. The first week of practice begins Tuesday, August 27th and Thursday, August 29th from 2:30pm – 4:30pm.
Head Coach Seain Cook will select the pairs (3 Varsity, 3 JV, 3 Frosh/Soph) after Thursday’s practice (August 29th) who are competing in the first IBVL Tournament on Saturday, August 31st at North Beach, Santa Monica.
